Lisa’s Butter Cream Frosting

½ cup shortening
½ cup butter, softened
1 lb. powdered sugar (about 4 cups)
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream shortening and butter. Add remaining ingredient mix until well blended. Mix on high speed 3 to 4 minutes, until creamy, adding a drop or two of milk if necessary. Yield: 3 cups stiff icing. To thin, add milk. Last 2 weeks in a covered container in refrigerator.
